Jon Hinck makes his case on Twitter

Democratic Senate candidate Jon Hinck took to Twitter this afternoon to explain to voters why he’s the guy who deserves the Democratic nod in the race to replace Olympia Snowe.

Hinck, a lawyer and state representative from Portland, is one of four Democrats vying for their party’s nod in Tuesday’s primary. He used his Twitter handle, @jonhinck, to broadcast 12 seemingly unprompted statements about why he should be Maine’s next senator.

Here’s a sampling:

The next US Senator from ME should have the desire and drive to meet the test posed by climate distruption. I do. #mesen #mepolitics @350

The next US Senator from ME should be committed to public education. Yes, I am. #mesen #mepolitics

The next US Senator fm ME sld be a feminist who takes a hard line on the rights of women, inc. choice a pay equity. I am. #mesen #mepolitics

The next US Senator from ME should be an uncompromising civil libertarian. That is who I am. #mesen #mepolitics

His tweets elicited a handful of clarifying questions and a response from a parody Twitter account for U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, @ChellieSussman.

Has anyone noticed @jonhinck is describing me as the best candidate for #mesen? I know, I wish I ran too. #mepolitics
