Glamour Magazine plans to honor Democratic state Sen. Cynthia Dill and about a dozen other women candidates Monday night at its annual “Women of the Year” event at Carnegie Hall.
Chelsea Clinton will emcee the gala affair and introduce Dill, who placed third Tuesday in the six-way contest for Maine’s U.S. Senate seat with 13 percent of the vote.
Dill’s campaign says the state senator from Cape Elizabeth will be honored for her commitment to public service.
“I am very honored to be included in this distinguished list of women candidates whose voices made a huge impact on the 2012 election cycle,” Dill said in a statement. “It is important that women leaders stay visible and continue to pursue our vision for equality and parity. I am delighted to be representing Maine in this endeavor.”
