Mike Michaud, Maine’s former Democratic U.S. representative and second-place finisher in the 2014 gubernatorial election, showed zero apprehension about jumping out of an airplane in a video released Thursday by the Department of Labor.
Well, see for yourself:
Michaud is back in government service now as the assistant secretary of labor for veterans’ employment and training, a post to which he was appointed by President Obama last summer.
His jump with the “Golden Knights” U.S. Army Parachute Team and the Soldier for Life program was intended as a demonstration of his commitment to helping service members and their families find good jobs after the military, which is his job.
Jumping out of airplanes to honor veterans is becoming popular. Ann LePage, wife of Gov. Paul LePage, jumped out of an airplane in August 2014 to raise awareness of causes that help disabled veterans.
At least now Michaud and the LePages will have something pleasant to chat about should they ever end up at the same dinner party.
